This review is strictly for the restaurant. We had an absolute blast while we were dining here. Overall, it felt like we were transported somewhere in Mexico and had a great lunch.I put us on the list and gave them my number. They said it was a 15 minute wait, which was pretty accurate. We used the time to look around in the shops. They texted me when our table was ready and we were seated immediately when we went up to the hostess. Our server was quick to get to us. Chips and salsa were good. We would have gladly filled up on chips and salsa alone! They got us our drink orders pretty quickly and our food came out at a reasonable time. We all enjoyed our food. I absolutely loved the chicken mole. We also had musicians stop by at our table and we all really enjoyed the entire experience.

My husband and I go here with my family every time we are in San Diego. My grandparents started bringing my dad here when they lived in San Diego. My husband and I spent our honeymoon in San Diego and we had to make this one of our dinner night spots. We called ahead and made reservations stating that we were on our honeymoon. When we showed up they had a beautiful table set for us near one of the heater lamps with 2 small bottles of champagne. We ate like royalty, and they still brought us an on the house dessert. They treated us so well I cannot even begin to say how special they made it for us. Will always have my business.

Delicious food, fast friendly service. When we checked our party of 7 in they told us that it would be a 20-30 minute wait but we walked around the shop's and they called us after 10 minutes. Food came out fast and hot, very attentive server checking our glasses, chips and salsa.

I’ve been here a handful of times and it never disappoints. Though it’s always been busy when I’ve gone, they have great fluidity on getting you seated quickly. The staff are wonderfully attentive and friendly. Last night my husband and I arrived ten minutes before the kitchen closed and they seated us right away. Even though we were pressed for time, our waiter was incredibly kind and made sure we had time to order and was so helpful. We quickly chose what we wanted and within 15 min our food had come out. It. Was. Spectacular. Everything was absolutely flavorful and we were able to enjoy every bit of it. The Riviera Maya (something like that lol) margarita was fabulous, too! I’m so glad we ordered just one! The carnitas dinner plate and the chicken molé plate were some of the best we’ve ever had. We will definitely keep this a usual for when we visit SD! Disclaimer: we’re on our honeymoon so everything is pretty much blissful to us at the moment.

Great food! Big plates so be hungry or take some home. Margaritas are a little pricey but taste good. Wander around all the shops of handmade Mexican items.

Located in Historic Old Town San Diego, Casa de Reyes is a great place to dine. I loved the Mexican themed ambience, the staff was friendly, the food came out quickly and it tasted great. My favorite part was the margarita pitchers. Parking can be slightly challenging because of the area but worth checking out in San Diego.

We all (7 of us) really loved the place! Food was great. We had enchiladas, mole, tilapia, shrimp and burritos. The chips and salsa was top notch - one of the all time best we’ve had. The flan was superb! It had an almond flavor twist to it that the typical flan does not. I savored every bite of the flan. Will visit again next time we have a chance.

Great gluten free food and large Margaritas. Menu clearly marked for gluten free, vegitarin, and vegan. Lots of meat options with beef, pork, fish, shrimp, chicken, etc. Comfortable seating for one to a large party. Good music and helpful staff. Check in at the desk and they can usually seat you right away. If there is a wait you can wander around the grounds and they will text you when the table is ready. Parking lot is just to the south, though it is full by noon on the weekends.

You're mainly paying for the ambiance as it is a tourist trap. My chicken burrito was lukewarm and the margarita was more on the watery side. Yet service was attentive.

Regarded as among the best Mexicans restaurants in old town it offers an extensive menu, and modest drink choices.. Always had a large crowd but large enough to handle its popularity and the live stage shows in the center court is an excellent touch. Very entertaining.

Better than tourist food. We had a bean tostada, crisp beef taco, and chicken soup. Non of it was overloaded with cheese like the other restaurants in Old Town. The tortillas they use are light and easy to eat. The meat in the taco had a good flavor, the soup was good but not my favorite, I like a chicken soup with a clear broth. I had a stressful flight back home and needed to stop for a margarita. We walked through part of Old Town, and then to Casa de Reyes. We were seated near the stage, which was very nice, we like the band they use. After dinner, we stayed for the show, it was a very nice night, oh and the margarita hit the spot. We will go again.

The food here is amazing! If you are in old Town this is a must stop. Just walk past the other places and go here. The food has been awesome and so good each time we go. The margaritas are fabulous!!! Also the massive margarita is worth the price! Not only is it good, it is not watered down.

Beautiful outdoors seating with lots of old town flair. This restaurant is on the expensive end, so expect $16 for a basic combo plate with enchiladas, tacos, etc & over $12 for a margarita; however, the Chicken Tortilla Soup is excellent tho a bit spicy. Portions are large which meant sharing the combo platter with a friend was an easy way to make the entrees more affordable.

Favorite Mexican food in Old Town. We always bring friends and family from out of town here. The out door style is lovely and the I always love the live music. The portions are huge and food is well priced. The alcohol is expensive though. Great place to visit and just enjoy the day.

Yay! We sat next to a fire pit; that set the vibe for our group on a chili San Diego day. The salsa was great, just a little kick with the seasoned chips. Everyone in our group loved the chicken nachos with the black beans on them...yummy! In our party...bean & cheese burrito, combo fajitas (he said the steak was awesome), cheese enchilada, and tacos. Needless to say, we are headed back to Casa de Reyes on our next SD visit!

The portions here are incredibly large! It's a bit of a wait time but it gave us a chance to explore the town until our table was ready. The chips are served warm and freshly made and the salsa was excellent. The tostada salad was delicious but definitely gets soggy quickly. The ceviche is legit, wow, by far a popular around the table. Service is slow as the space is quite large.

The most reputable restaurant in my town. I found this incredible place by accident, and I was totally lucky to find this place for my birthday event. Their staff was on time and very clean. They really look good on their uniforms. The quality of service they provided was excellent! No hidden charges compared to others. Thank you so much to all of you! Kudos!
